We started this business out of necessity (Necessity is the Mother of Invention). John one of the members of the LLC had polio over 90% of his body in 1954 at the age of 5. He spent 9 months in Warm Springs, Ga. in the hospital for Polio victims, being 700 miles away from his family in Tampa, Fl. where he contracted the Polio Virus. He learned how to walk again with the aid of full leg braces, back brace, and crutches. John grew up in Marianna, Fl. and joined in all the outdoor activities with his classmates enjoying all the crystal springs and Chipola River snorkeling with his pals finding all kinds of artifacts. When in the water due to his strength in his arms from walking on crutches he could out swim most of his buddies. John grew up being very mobile and was able to enjoy the beaches, camping (Boy Scouts) cave exploring, fishing, hunting, and other activities. He graduated from Chipola Jr. College, married and had two sons, divorced, remarried has 3 step children and has 12 grandchildren, worked for 28 years. He now deals with Post-Polio Syndrome and is restricted to electric wheelchair devices, which are useful for in house or shopping venues but are unable to venture onto the soft beach sands or rough terrains. Therefore began the invention and designing of the All-Terrain BeachScoot Accommodator II Mobility Assist Vehicle (MAV). We experimented with a custom push wheelchair and more than one mobility assist vehicle until we got it right. Today I go where I want to go, whenever I please.
